Valve timing

iac flucs between 120 and 140 could somethin else be controllin this sensor or is it bad

can the opti control valve timing, my uncle ran a vacuum tester on it and it is leanin towards a late valve timing, would late valve timing cause the car to have an idle at around 500 rpms

Did you swap a VTEC into your car?

The PCM has control over idle speed, and ignition timing, among other things, but not over valve timing.

A vacuum leak is a good bet. That would play havoc with the idle.

Counts that high mean that it is letting in a lot of air. Maybe you have an over-rich condition. Perhaps even a bad f/p regulator and you are sucking gas in through the vacuum control line.

Maybe you can explain how a NA car could even idle without any vacuum reading?
