Valve Spring Seat Question
Valve Spring Seat Question
I bought a set to PAC Beehives, got new seats/retainers/locks. I replaced one spring to get the car running, but I didn't replace the seat. I had forgotten that I'd have to pull the valve seals to replace the seats. The seats I had on there are a near perfect fit for the beehives. When I replace all the other springs, I'll replace the seats. I had to get the car running to have a hope of getting it to my buddy's place to replace them all.
The question is, I was trying to turn and wiggle the seat by hand but I couldn't get it to budge at all. Should I have been able to turn/wiggle the seat, or does the valve seal hold them down tightly? (I want to be sure I'm going to be able to get them off when I do the entire spring set.)

A light pry with a screw driver pops them right off.
I'd be safe and get the correct seats, the seats that are recommends for the PAC1218 or 1518s were .02 thicker than the stockers.
Be sure and get the right locks too, either the Comp 611s for the taller/ bigger valves or Comp 6114s for the stock valves. May want to measure the installed height to be sure, should be 1.75"-1.8"
