valve spring questions

ok guys i have a GTP cam with a lift of .595, on a 1.5RR which i will be running for now, upgrading to a 1.6 later pushing the lift over .600 i need upgrade my valve springs so what should i go with, and what springs need new seats locks retainers etc...
i was recomended the k-motion k-800's but after buying new seats, locks, and retainers im close to $300 i think that seems bit high, but i have never messed with springs before so i dont know
thanks guys

Re: valve spring questions

With that high of lift you will most lilkely be looking at triple spring with seats larger than 1.46 which means machining the seats (which I assume you already know). So you are going to have to consider how much it will cost you for machining alone on top of head removal and replacement, purchase of springs, retainers, keepers, etc.

Your cam card should tell you the recommended pressures and install heights.
You should have the machinist install the springs while they have the heads to ensure a good install and fit.

I don't know about K-Motions. Frankly, I'd go with Crane, Comp Cam, Crower or somebody like that. JMHO

Re: valve spring questions

With 1.6 rockers, that will give you .635 lift.

Look into the Comp Beehive that would have 150#seat and 350# open on the nose. They will loose 15-25# after a few heat cycles.
A real good set with all the jewelry cost $500.00 so $300.00 ain't bad.

Re: valve spring questions

That will give you .586 or .587 lift depending upon how you round off.
