Valve spring question and off road y pipe
Valve spring question and off road y pipe
I just bought a 95 ta with the six speed. It is completely bone stock with 72,000 miles. The guy I bought it from said that he read somewhere that there was a great hp gain in replacing the stock valve springs. Sounds a little hokey to me but I thought I would ask! Also, is there any gain (other than more noise) to putting an off road y pipe on my car. Thanks for any help or advice you can offer. I have three kids and tight budget!!!
Re: Valve spring question and off road y pipe
theres no gain with only valvesprings changed, you usually get the gain when you add 1.6 rr's on top of them, but i wouldnt do that as a first mod. start with a cold air intake and a catback exhaust, which is what most people do.
Re: Valve spring question and off road y pipe
might not be a gain but if there is a loss of power due to weak high mileage valvesprings, lost power can be brought back to the motor
high mileage valvesprings are a good idea to replace IMO
