valve margin problem
valve margin problem
i finally got around to dropping of my engine at extreem horse power today so they can start my 383 build. i also brought them my cylinder heads because they wanted to put them on the flow bench. i had them ported and larger valves put in elsewhere. well the problem is that they found out that the valve margins are too large. not a big deal to fix and they offered to redo the five angle valve job for half price but it really burns me up that it was not done right in the first place. i called the shop that did the heads which is about 50 miles away and they said they would redo it for free if there was a problem. i dont know if i should trust them at this point. shoud i let extreem do it and pay for it or give the orginal shop a chance to make it right?
i am cheap, you can ask my wife, and thats the route i am leaning twards. the guy at the shop that did the heads is really nice and i dont know why but i feel i can trust him. although the people at extreem are great and i know them personaly, and know i can trust them.
well i was trying not to say llyod's name, i did not want to say anything against him or his work, thats not what this is about. i think i will give him the chance to do it right. yes they did flow them they flowed 272 at .650 lift. le2 package, they were impressed.
