Valve lash with stock lifters.

Anyone know what the valve lash with stock lifters should be. I have a couple noisy roller rockers after my cam install. I used a set of factory lifters turned 3/4 turn past 0 lash. Is this right and i just need to recheck them, or should it be a full turn? I got the noise as soon as i started the car.

Also, does the car need to be cold to adjust them or is it ok to do it when its a little bit warm?

I think they're too tight, From what I've read, they're supposed to be turned about 1/4 - 1/2 turn, not 3/4. Thats cold preload as well.

I set them to 1/4 turn. You have to make sure you are on the heel of the cam and find zero lash BEFORE you set them.A tapping on cold start is not unusual, you have changed the position of the inner piston.I would reset them, and a few taps on cold start is not going to hurt as long as they quieten down as soon as the oil gets there.1/4 turn may fix it and don't worry about what the book says.Hyd lifters have been adjusted in MANY MANY different ways down through the years.I find 1/4 turn to do the best all around in the many set's I have set in the past 40+ years.
