You can use stock valve covers, but the supports on the inside just need to be trimmed on the inside. No problems.

If you use the Crane gold 1.6 rockers, you don't have to do a thing to the stock valve covers.

Look at GM performance parts number 12497978 or 979. I got them and I think they're the best looking I've seen yet. They are actually made by Proform under number 141-130 but I don't know if you can get them through any other sources. They fit my 1.6 magnums fine and I have 7/16 studs. If you need it https://www.spoperformanceparts.com/ is GM performance parts. Go to SB its in there.

If they are LT1-specific, they should.

I don't believe they are LT 1- specific, that's why I asked about the alternator.

Don't know if you're looking for the "factory look" or not but the pro-line aluminum jobs will clear, plus they have the alternator clearance built in.

Thanks Mindgame,

Anyone know if the Pro-Line covers clear Comp 1.6 NSA roller rocker without grinding?

Sorry I can't answer the question about the alternator. I have a blower and all different brackets and did not have a problem fitting them up. Also I got mine from Bobby Murray chevrolet and noone else could touch that price. I still say they are the best looking ones around. Good luck.

I have the # 12497979 covers and I had to grind on the back of the alternator to get them to fit. It didn`t take much though.
They also look great!
