Valve covers

Has anybody ever used these valve covers? Any problems with them leaking? I like the looks of them for the price. I need something that will fit over my Jessell shaft rockers.

thats a good price. only thing is unlike the canton's you have to remove the alterator to install or remove them.

I was told that the canton valve covers wouldn't fit with the Jessel shaft rockers.

I'm using these Pro-Form valve covers with my Jesel sportsman shaft-rockers. I had them laying around (from another engine), I tried them and they fit. I also had the breather tubes welded-on.

If you haven't relocated your alternator (I haven't) your valve cover options with the Jesels may be limited. Althought, the Pro-Forms will fit with the alternator and a little work, here are some photos.

I like the look of the Proforms and they are a little cheaper in price. I like the Black crinkle ones. I guess I could order them and send them back if they didn't work. Thanks for the info.

As I recall, Pro-Forms are about .550 taller than the stockers. And that is all you need for the Jesels to clear.

Also, I'm up at Enid occasionally. The kids grandmother lives there, so maybe we should check-out each other's LTX engines and cars.

That sounds fine to me. Just let me know when you will be up this way and you can come by and check out my car. I still have a long ways to go before she will be ready for the street.

Do you have any photos of the CNC intake? I would like to look it over.

It sounds like you are building a bad-*** LTX engine. You should plan on going to the LTX Shoot-Out next year. At this year's shoot-out I set low-ET in Heads-Up N/A and qualified #1. But ended-up 2nd in the finals.

Also, my Z28 is street legal, but doen't see too much street time. I also race in the NHRA Summit Series.

With really good air and track conditions 10.80s @ 122+ Mph, however, with conditions like at the shoot-out it was 11 teens @ 119.8 MPH (about 3 tenths slow, which was typical for most cars there). While not my best times at the shoot-out, my car was well prepared and very consistent. And I went down the track every time with good times.

I've got some serious upgrade ideas for next season (SR cam and head-work) and possibly a few tricks up my sleeve. Also some more front-end weight reduction. Hopefully, that will place me in consistent mid tens next year.
