valve cover issues

Ok i have a set of spectre chrome valve covers for my newly built 355. I have skorpion 1.6rr's and an xfi 280 cam. Will they hit the covers? Also about too sell my le3's and get some afr eliminator 215cc heads. I think it'll make big power with these heads. Can i use stock length pushrods with the afr heads?

Re: valve cover issues

Honestly you should ditch the SA rockers anyway, especially if you're going for big power. Big power means big RPMs, which NSAs are far more stable than their SA counterparts. Ditch those Scorpion rockers and go with something robust, like the Ultra Pro Mags or equivalent.

And if you're debating between as-cast AFRs and AI ported TFS heads, that's a NO-brainer. The AI heads would be far superior.

And when you're looking at a build of that magnitude you need to know some basic things. Pushrod length is a function of many variables that change and each engine is (usually) different, so pushrod length is almost never the same. You WILL have to measure for the proper length.

Your sig says you already have the AFRs?

I ordered them but they e-mailed me and said i need nsa rockers. So the order was cancelled. The skorpion rockers are really that bad? I figured 400 dollars would get me a decent set. I didn't order them my engine builder did. I think he ordered sa rockers because of the ease of install.

You would be doing yourself a huge disservice by staying with SA rockers with those heads/valvetrain. You definitely do not want to skimp here - don't make the mistake. I don't see how you can sacrifice a FAR superior head just because you want to reuse the rockers. Doesn't make much sense.

They aren't BAD, it's just that you need the right parts. Unfortunately the fact is, you don't. Sell the Scorpions and get the correct rockers.
