Valve Cover Gasket Replacement

I'm going to be replacing my valve cover gaskets (old ones are leaking a tad). I've never messed with this part of the engine before, so im a bit neverous as what to do. Anything I need to know taking the covers off? My car is a 95z28 with AC too so from the looks of it its going to be a bit tight.
Also when im under there, what kind of cleaning can/should I do to the rockers and springs? Any help will do plz feel free to talk to me like ima noob.. cuz i am lol
THnx

Just pop the 4 bolts out per valve cover and replace the gaskets. Clean the gasket channels in the valve covers off with a paper towel and put the new gaskets in there. Put the cover back on and bold down. The torque spec on the VC is very light. Don't over toque.

its easy. you'll be suprised how easy it was when you finish. you may have to remove the alternator on the passenger side if you want to remove the valve cover completely.

I think I usually have to remove my AIR diverter fittings, too.

The factory valve cover gaskets, are nice, thick, quality gaskets. Unless the covers have been off and one of them got torn. I cant see them going bad and leaking.
Did you try to snug up the bolts a bit? and are you sure it's the VCs that are leaking and not the intake manifold.
If you do decide to replace them. I'd relace them with factory gaskets.
Also, don't mess with the rocker arms or springs. They don't need any cleaning.

Yea quite sure the leak is there, I tightened them up a bit in the past and its gone away, i just want to clean it up a bit and do it over again. The gasket i got seemed to be of high quality and is a nice thick rubber, but i suppose the GM gasket would be a good idea anyhow. So no cleaning on the thinggymaggys eh? well thats good to hear
Thanks for the replys...

Oh, if you already have some good gaskets. I'd just go with those then.
