Valve cover gasket question

I need to change these gaskets, I was told it was very important to place them properly or else it could leak more than before I tokk them off. So I was wonderin, could I just put silicone for gaskets underneath to hold it in place?
As well, my oil pan leaks, is this hard to change by myself?

I had to argue with the guy at the store over the phone to try to explain to him there are 2 valve covers. Guess that's what I get for living in hoda land!
