valve adjustment after cam & rockers swap?

i took it upon all knowledge of this forum to complete my cam and rocker's upgrade, i was able to install and car runs wich is pretty darn good for a rookie.

so my question is on adjusting the valves (properly) wich i know i didn't do it right, i also installed new springs with the upgrade, now my 1.6 roller rockers tick, clatter, etc really bad and i'm thinking is why i got a bad missfire and lousy top end like a v-6.??

i should add that i am taking the z28 to a professional mechanic saturday, the mechanic told me about setting timing when i installed cam he said something about disconecting a wire before setting the timing or else it could retard timing up to 18* what do you guy's think.

also is it good to do some dyno tunning on LT-1? i'm just trying to have some good knowledge so i won't get ripped off. thanks on any reply's. THE END

These questions should be asked and discussed in LT1 Tech, transfering.

Thanks.

All you should need to know about setting the valves.

I would consider taking it to another mechanic (if you end up having to take it anywhere). Doesn't sound like the guy knows anything about LT1's.

A dyno tune can never hurt after major upgrades, as long as you can afford it.

As for running rich...you need tuning done for the 230/236 if you ....that should solve that for the most part. Im talking about a base program for the pcm not a dyno tune. Once you have the base program then do the dyno tune. If you allready have a base tune you need to do some scan logs to see whats going on.

i'm guessing it's the pcm tunning i got from pcm for less because the mechanic that adjusted my rockerarms said my shift points were off didn't really know what he ment by that, so on the way home i i went full throttle and the rpm hit 7000k i think thats was ugly car would not pull at 7k felt like stepping on the gas at neautral do think my be it's brian tunning i think he's really good but my first pcm he sent me was the wrong one!

dude, punctuation, PLEASEEEEE....your posts are unbearable to read.

anyways, bryan herter does really good work, just call him up, and if something is truly wrong i am sure he take care of the problem immediately.

as for 7K...ummm...why are you doing that? from your sig your managed to do a few bolt ons, and then went right to a massive cam. HEADWORK is something you might want to look into.

as for now, lay off the revs till you get your car working right. i realize that cam makes power up high, but damn dude, chill

Edit: get some gears!!!!!! 3.23s are NOT gonna cut it anymore with a cam that demands high rpms.

Hate to hijack, but shoebox mentions "poly locks" on his site. I assume he means the nut with allen plug, ala Comp Cams Pro-Magnum Self-Aligning Roller Rocker Arms, 3/8" stud, 1.6 Ratio? correct?

well since you brought it back up.!

i've got that hesitation once again but now i know it's got to be the tranny.

the sensor to the side of the tranny seem's to be leaking i think that might be my problem why it won't shift gear's some time's, it's like if it hit's the rev limiter but only on full throttle.

I have been doing allot of research and seem's like it could be the: clutches or that sensor? i'll try the sensor since it's the cheapest

and about those rocker's that problem was fixed by a profesional thank god! yup it's those rocker's with a allen deal on the middle.
