valve adjustment..

It won't hurt if I tightened the rocker down 1/2 instead of 3/4 right? I adjusted them with the engine running; loosened til clacking, tighten just enough to stop clacking, and went 1/2 turn instead of 3/4. When I loosened them they were turned down 1 to 1 and 1/2 times why so tight? The car has 102,000 miles and has never been adjusted could that be why? Also the engine runs so incredibly smooth now it's pathetic!!

Suprised you didn't have atleast a loss of power. Someone tightened my buddy's rocker arms too tight and it would barely spin over.

I did experience a loss of power because now it revs a lot quicker and I have almost zero backfire. I always thought loose rockers clicked and did not realize too tight ones do too.
