Vacuum Leak?

Vacuum Leak?
My car is running like crap. It stalled out on me as I was waiting to make a left turn into a parking lot.. I had to restart it and then go. After getting back into my car a few minutes later, the car started up but was not right. Whenever I idle back down to a stop, the car wants to stall and I have to put it in nuetral and keep revving it to keep it going. It still stalled on me on the way home though. And when I got home, after I pulled into the parking spot, I just sat there to see if it would stall and it did. I had the battery and alternator checked. They are fine. I thought maybe alternator problems because as long as Im going thru the gears and going down the road, its fine. Its when I start slowing down or am idling. But it doesn't do it everytime. So Im lost. Also, tried to put 2 different scanner tools on my car to see what the engine code was, neither tool would link up. I've had an EVAP emissions code for a year now, so my light has been on. But I thought I'd check with the tool to see if I had any new codes. So, any ideas on why neither tool would link up to my car?? And does this sound like a vacuum leak? Thanks for any ideas!

Could be a stuck open EGR valve. It would be the same thing as a big vacuum leak. Could be a lot of other things, too. Perhaps the scan tools rely on 12v from the DLC. Make sure you have no blown fuses that would keep it from getting 12v.

Try a fuel pressure gauge too. Mine has been doing something very similar and after all of my troubleshooting, it appears to be a fuel pump on its way out. It's fine until the car warms up for a while and then it starts wanting to stall at idle. Let us know if you figure it out.
