Vacuum Hose Replacement?

My friend just got an LT1 but it needs to have the vacuum hose replaced. Does anyone have a recommendation or a part number and what will happen if he runs it without it? I don't think it throws an SES light off the bat but after awhile it sets it off.

Thanks

Heh sorry I wasn't more specific, I'm not that familiar with LT1's yet but it is the one that comes off around the left side of the throttle body and goes back and to the left.

Sorry I can't get more descriptive than that...let me look for a pic of an LT1 and I'll draw an arrow

{EDIT} Here is a pic. I circled the area where it is ripped pretty badly but still functions somewhat I imagine. {/EDIT}

Thats the 'feed' [from the TB to the psgr valve cover] for the PCV system..
Should run OK with it torn, [not as bad as a vacuum leak would be] but I'd change it soon..

Ok thanks for the help.

Don't know much about LT1's yet. Going to buy one soon though hopefully so I'll start reading up more on them.

in my experience, you may get a slight gain in hp with that port plugged off, when i ran my car i had that port on the TB plugged w/a vaccum cap and a breather installed in the back hole of the valve cover.......but i may have noticed a slight loss in mpg?unknown though?

dunno if this was i smart idea or not.....but i've seen at least 3 companys selling the so called "vavle cover breather kits" for lt1's that replace this hose....so i assumed it would'nt hurt anything?

Problem with that is that then the PCV draws 'unmetered' [by the MAF] air into the intake...

I replaced mine a while back.. it was about $7 or $8 from the dealer.

I've since gone the breather/vac cap route.
