Vacum/Air Injection Hose help!!!

The hose for the air injection system on my car (Passanger side) that provides extra air for the cats to break down the CO is heating up and cooking and eventually breaking. I have been told the check valve that screws onto the pipe is bad and needs replaced. I have heard they are often very hard to unscrew since they are often really stuck on there. Has anyone replaced this check valve and provide any pointers for removing.

Any other thoughts as to why this hose is getting so hot and breaking?????

If it's faulty, then that's a good indication why it keeps breaking.

Use a big-*** 1" wrench (if I recall correctly), and plenty of WD40. It also might help to run the engine to warm up the fitting and possibly break it loose. A propane torch applied to the area might help too (that's how I remove bad O2 sensors... ).

Also, wouldn't it be possible to leave the fittings in the manifolds, and remove just the check valve? Pull off the rubber hose, and wrench off the other side.

Mine came out without a problem when I removed it all. O2's came out no problem. And y-pipe came off as well. Spray a little PB Buster on there. Its great stuff....

Yep, PB Buster and a 1" wrench are the ticket. I removed mine earlier today for a header install. I soaked the pipe and check valve in PB Buster (a penetrating oil available at any auto parts store.) I let it sit for about 20 minutes and was then able to remove the tube and check valve with minimal effort. I didn't need to heat the pipe with a torch or anything like that.

just a little word of advice... PB Buster works GREAT with the pipe hot. Like say you drive the car or run it for like 10 minutes then soak it in PB Buster then let it sit till it cools, then soak it one more time and it will come out like butter....
