Question V6 or V8

I have a 1994 Pontiac Trans Am that i am having major problems with, heres a rundown of the problems: Knock in engine, probably needs to be rebuilt, transmission makes clicking noises, probably needs rebuild, and rearend is shot needs to be totally rebuilt, leaking from pinion seal. My dad says I need to get a camaro witha V6, What do I tell him to convince him that I don't need a V6 car, but I need a Z28?

If he will only let you get a 6 cylinder, either get a Supra I-6 not V6, or Mitsubishi 3000 GT VR4 - Those are both 6 cyls and very FAST! A 3000 can run 11s with about 1,000!

a guy from around here found some place in i think it was Arizona that had alot of 300zx's. he got a nice TT with i think 80,000 miles and all the goodies on it for $8 grand or so. and dam 180,000 is alot. i dont know to much about those cars but if you can get 180,000 mile sout of one id say its worth your money.

You can get a good, clean LT1 for $7,000.... Probably a '97 if you look around, but definitely a 95 or 96 with reasonable mileage. Don't expect to find a car with 30,000 miles, garage kept.. heh... but an 85,000 mile car in good shape shouldn't be hard for 7k.

Buy a V6 Camaro, hit a junkyard, find a Series 2 3800 that's supercharged (very easy to find), rebuild it, and you will be running with the big dogs! (not very cost effective, but hey, insurance will be cheaper!)
