using stock LT1 PM rods with bushed pistons...

I am having my stock PM rods refreshed free of charge and I want to use them with bushed Mahle forged pistons.

Can this be done and how do I do it.
Thanks

if your doing forged pistons i assume your putting them in there for a reason because you are after the ability to make more power without cracking pistons it would be pointless to put stock rods back in if thats the case but thats just my opinion

The pistons are bushed? Never seen that.
Have seen pistons for floating pins that use a rod with a bushing. Is that what you are talking about?
Ya can run pressed rods with pistons made for floting pin's,just leave out the locks. The piston pin bore may be a tad larger than a pressed set and need to be checked or ya may come up with a knock.

From: Oklahoma where trees are made of wood.
You can buy a set of bushed scat rods from Summit or Jegs for right around 200 $ a set (4340 forged steel)

Just because it's free don't mean it's a good idea.

Granted the stock PM rods are not the best but many have stated that they will be fine for a 400RWHP car that will never see boost or juice.

Are they really that crappy?

If they are used for a a STOCK engine like the factory intended and left unmodified they will be fine.
Anything else ya takes ya chances.
Have seen them hanging out the side of heads, cam engines.

The reason I ended up rebuilding my engine was because my #8 stock rod was twisted like a pretzel, granted I already had a rebuild planed and was beating the **** out of the car but still is the $250 difference in price really worth it? For me it wasent and wouldent ever be. I like knowing the fact that I can push my engine and not having to worry about it coming apart or failing on me.
