Anyone out there got a good ecm for a 95 camaro z28 for sale? Just brought my car back from precision tune and the diagnostic was a dead computer. They said there was no communication from the comp. to their scanner. All wires were plugged tight, no misconnections no blown fuses. Car has been running like crap for a while. No power, pops from idle when you stab the gas. Prec. tune said it was running on preset defaults. I have changed opti, wires, plugs, coil, coil module, egr, iat, intake elbow, tps, temp sensor, and it still popped when stabbing the gas from idle. No mis or pop if i slowly rev it up. No pop or mis if I stab it from about 3000 rpms.Light comes on after about 5 sec after starting then goes off about 1 min later but the prob. still remains. Any ideas, any used (good) ecms just lying around. Mine is a 4spd auto.

 

You should probalby post in the parts wanted forum, but I bet there is nothing wrong with your PCM (not ECM). Shops will regularly try to hook up an OBD-II scanner to a 1995 LT1 when it is in fact OBD-I. Their diagnosis will be "bad PCM". Better make sure they knew what they were doing.

 

its an obdI computer with an obd II plug right?

 

Yes, the DLC is the OBD-II shape.

 

yeah...I think I would get a second opinion on that one.
