Is it a bad idea to use a used cam? Has anyone done this here? Would I be better off buying a new cam?

 

Roller cams with roller lifters really dont wear.Unless of course there is a problem with a roller.If it looks good,it is worth using.Check the lobes and bearing surfaces.The price should be good too.

 

U could always have a machine shop inspect it for u for any signs of wear. I think this would be ur best bet before u buy it or put it into whatever. There is always that chance of it having a tiny problem that can cost u big bucks.
