used 1.6 Roller Rockers on stock springs and cam.

I just got a set of used Crane Gold 1.6 Roller Rockers off ebay, and plan on installing them any day now. I am leaving the springs and cam alone. I have researched some info and I should pick up 10-15HP, better gas mileage, and between 1-2 tenths of my 1/4 mile time. Has anyone done this before?? If so what were your results?? Thanx for all the imput!!

At least get a set of springs for it. LT4's will be just fine, and they're cheap, as mentioned.

I gained 7 rwhp with 1.6's RR's and new valvesprings.

My friend did what you're about to do...10K miles later he busted off the ends of 2 of his stock pushrods from coil bind. He never did find one of the metal pieces

LT4 Hot springs can just replace the stockers w/o
any other stuff. Depending on mileage you may
want to consider new valve stem seals. And definately
check out the great info shoebox has on how to
do it.

I was gathering the 1.6 rollers, hardened push rods and springs too. I was wondering if it would be a tremendous gain to also add the LT4 Intake? They aren't too expensive.

Would the gain by this swap of intakes be worth much in HP?

I'm not interested in changing the cam or adding headers.

The LT4 intake is not a direct bolt on to LT1 heads. Even if it did, it would not result in a big improvement. It was made to compliment and fit the LT4 heads.
