upgrading fuel injectors.........bosch or delphi/lucas ?

looking at some 42lb injectors........bosch are on sale for $299, and the delphi/lucas are about $319.

any specific reason to go with one or the other?

preferably a technical reason.

Bosch is a good injector and is what I'd go with.

I'd go with Bosch injectors (Ford SVOs) just because they've been well tested on many cars and their spray pattern looks more efficient to me. Lucas/Delphi I beleive is a disc type injector and the spray looks like a direct stream, while Bosch injectors really "spray".

intersting...........heres what racetronix has to say about the disc type

Top feed disc injectors use a small disc with six holes around its circumference. The disc rests on a short chimney that surrounds a metering hole. As the disc is raised off the chimney by magnetic force, fuel flows through the holes in the disc, over the walls of the chimney, and out the metering hole to form a full, finely atomized cone.

Performance advantages over pintle injectors (i.e. Ford / Bosch & Accel types) as listed by Delphi:
• The flat mating surface ensures that no excess fuel is present to evaporate and therefore, no deposits or clogging can occur.
• Compatible with alternative fuels (i.e. Methanol)
• Longer service life
• High-speed disc action allows wider dynamic flow range for improved idling
• Quieter operation
• Revolutionary disc design resists build up deposits which can affect fuel flow.
• No Fuel leakage for quicker starts

anyone else have exp with both?

The pintle type injector are much more prone to get dirty and perform poorly than the ball and seat type.

Rochester built the LT1 Multec injectors
Bosch did the pintle type for the L98

Not really, just pointing out one features that I see all the time. Actually all the new injectors are good nowadays most of the companies learned by their mistakes by now.
Presently, I don't sell injectors I just see what they look like after 10+ years of abuse.
