I just completed assembling my engine which includes 30# injectors. Is it ok to start the car without tuning in the new injector size??? The current tune is setup for the stock 24#ers

 

yeah, I started mine thursday cause I didnt want to wait for my tune to start it. esp. if there's something wrong. that would give me a few more days to correct if there was a problem. anyways, I wouldnt drive it since it will be running rich. mine is only real rich at higher rpms. it doesnt really smoke at all at idle or just off idle. I have started it quite a few times to hear it since I just got done w/the heads/cam/exh. upgrade.

 

Yes, its ok to start it up w/ the 30# injectors. Yet, I would not do much driving at all before you get it tuned.

Yes, mine ran OK w/o tuning for them..I left it like that for a week...

Starting it should be OK, but remember those injectors are 25% bigger than what the pcm thinks they are, so until the O2s warm and begin feedback it will be running very rich, then even once the O2s begin to work the pcm can not adjust the fuel trims enough to correct for that much extra fuel. So it will keep running rich just not as much so. I would not drive it at all you are looking at washing the cylinders down and dumping fuel into the oil, niether of which is a good thing.
