I have a 94 Z with almost 60k (A4) and mostly stock (except the borla and FIPK) I was looking maybe to give it a little more kick.... I am new to the mod game so please help me out. I have been reading up and are interested in 3 things...... a Granatelli MAF sensor, hooker headers, and a Vigilante TC. Which ones do you recommend??
Will the MAF mess up my computer?
Will the headers screw up my emissions? (Cali :I)??
What the hell does stall mean for the TC???

First off, Welcome to the board!
You can get shorty headers i.e Hooker, MAC, BBK, Edelbrock, RK Sport, AS&M, SLP etc and they will ALL pass emmisions.
The MAF in my eyes is a WASTE of money. Save it for something else.
The "stall" refers to the rpm the car stalls at.
A good and very QUAILTY stall is a Vigalinte (spelled wrong) Stall. A 2800 would be perfect for you. Some say 3000 or even 3200, but they you might run into programming problems with hte higher stall.
What gears do u have now? A 3.73 gear and 2800 stall is a GREAT combo. REAL SEAT IN THE PANTS gains. No hp though however.
If i were you i'd get the headers, stall, maybe gears depending on what u have and some custom programming i.e www.madz28.com or www.pcmforless.com .
Then work your way up from there. Too more HP or suspension route etc.
A cut-out is a great-cheap mod as well. 35.00 for the cut-out and like 35 to get it installed at a muffler/speed shop.

Its safer than you would think.

1.6 roller rockers
jegs has the crane engergizer ones for $200.
If you have stock rims, trans am 5 star wheels weigh a nice 6lbs ligher each. that means much better accell and braking- and they are cheap as hell and look 10x better.
You can also get new springs, shock.struts.sway bar/ sub frame connectors ect- all these will help (depending on what you want them for strip or twisties)
The LS1 brake upgrade for $250 is also a very appealing mod, even an aluminum driveshaft for $100 is a nice hp gain to the wheels and it will reduce your drive shaft vibrations.

The Best and most expensive: AS&M
Then followed by Rk sport (those 2 are both mid length headers and are almost identical)
Then MAC, Hooker, Edelbrock, SLP, BBK
Those are what i suggest in order. Also Coated is a HUGE plus.

Why are coated headers a huge plus over regular headers... if I get the mid length headers (the rk sport maybe) will I pass emissions??
