Update on the repairs on my 94 camaro
Hey everyone just got back from Chevy they said i need 3000 dollars worth of repairs. mostly because of labor, my head gaskets are blown the labor on that is 1326.00 $ parts 450 $ I have a plugged Cat converter?? labor 625 and parts 78 , a speed sensor of 48 dollars and fuel lines and diagnostics 372$. WOW i havent even made my first car payment on this? the chevy mechanic told me i should get an Attorney and take him to Ford dealer ship cuz they are the ones that sold me this car??? Should i do this?? Is there a chance i could possibly win or something?? I went and spoke to the Ford sales manager and he told me that the car is AS is NO warranty and then i showed him the damages and told him i havent even made my first car payment, He told me that chevy doesnt know anything and he told he is going to check on the backround of my car and he will give me a call, but he didnt sound to interested? So i dont know what i should do??

How much did you pay for the car? Did you drive it before buying it? Does it run? Do you know any mechanics you trust? If so, I would get a second opinion on the damages before proceeding with any kind of action against the dealership. I would honestly have no idea what kind of legal recourse you might be able to pursue, but I can't see them being allowed to completely rip you off.

I baught it for almost 6,000 dollars. I test drove it and it drove fine, but like weeks later it just all went down hill, Ya it still runs barely, I dont really know any mechanics?
6k for a 94!!!! and since its been weeks the dealership shouldnt be held responsible for the head gasket or the sensors the car is 13 years old i paid 2500 for my 95 which ran great when i bought it too...im putting a new transmission and a 383 in it after i bought it it started falling apart so far ive got 1k into it plus the price of the car and will have another 2-3k in it in a week all in all i will have about 8000 in the whole car when its done thats new paint 12 bolt rebuilt t-56 and a 383 and a tune...but that labors #&$%ing nuts. i have $0.00 in labor but some people arent mechanics...

To hell with the converter. $625 for labor and 78 for the converter. Go to Billy Bob's muffler and get it replaced for $100 if you're that worried about it. Head gaskets, go spend $100. But the Haynes manual, $50 in gaskets and a cheap *** $30 socket set and learn something new. I can do both headgaskets with beer, handtools, and trying to get my wife to give me some "lovin" in about 3 hours.

I wouldnt go at it as a amature gearhead with a 1 day deadline to get a first time head removal and install done, like said before if you plan on doing it yourself get a haynes manual to help with the install this manual will have torque sequences and ft/lbs to torque things by. Most people even some experienced people ive seen before seem to get in a hurry about things and do the huge mistake of throw all your bolts in a bucket deal.
If you decide to do this yourself find a peice of cardboard or something to stab your bolts threw to keep them easily in order it makes life better in the end.
a better question might be where are you located.

On a side note, with air tools I can do it a little under an hour. But if I go that fast, I only do it on my car. Not anyone else's.
