haven't been on line in a while but found this post and thought I woulkd clear things up.

Trevor Johnson does all of my machine work. Not NAPA or anyone else. Anyone that knows Greg Good can ask him what caliber of a machinist he is.

I told Speed Demon that I would check out his heads and see if they can be repaired even though I am not sure what caused 15/16 guides to crack. I can't believe I missed a cracked ex. guide before they shipped but I guess it is possible. Any idea why the other 14 cracked? They do not crack for just no reason. I still offered to check em out and see if they can be repaired.

OBVIOUSLY I would have been more eager to do all of this free of charge and pick up shipping both ways if they were sent a few weeks ago and before a few posts have been made but I guess Speed Demon had another plan than getting help from me on the heads.

Every now and then something comes with a set of heads and I bend over backwards for the customer and even take care of some stuff that is not my fault just to make the customer happy. That will not be the case here. I will get with Trevor and have him give me his opinion on what happened to the guides and we'll go from there.

I usually stay a few days behind on answering e-mails but eventually get them done.

How did they size the guides? Like i said it looks like they were broached to size since there weren't any hone marks which is a possible cause. I guess you guys will be able to better determine what caused this once you get your hands on them though. And I honestly don't know if it was just 1 that was cracked or if more were since I never took the heads apart to examine them before I put them on. They all could have been cracked or maybe it was just 1 when I got them then the rest cracked later for whatever reason. And I'm not sure what all the possible causes for cracked guides are so I really have no idea what could have caused this.
