Angry Update on a bad car rebuild

So, i finish my rebuild. Hey it moves it chugs good, but it leaks like hell.

So, i took it to my dad's friends house to fix the leaks and anything else he see's needs it.

So, he calls me and i pick it up, he says its done except for 1 gasket that is on back order.

So, i take it around, not to impressed, but it hasn't died out and still chugs.

So, me and my buddy that night went on our way downtown to his dads.

So, i open it up on the highway.

So, i get to 5 grand and it stays there. I have the pedal floored at this point.

My car dies. I pull over.

My oil pressure won't go back up. I put it in 2nd gear to drive towards an exit and towards the guys house.

I drive a few blocks and its really acting bad.

I pull over and call him, he calls a tow truck to meet us.

I look at my oil, its black and has lots o diamonds in it, metal i mean.

Tow truck takes it back to his house.

I tell him, next time, beat on it, make it run, pur fix everything.

Sounds like a bad oil pump and filter. More waiting.

Thanks for letting me rant.

You just rebuilt your engine, then when it's not even working right you take it out on the highway and floor it?

I hope I'm missing something here.

Fresh Motor + 5 grand enough times = piston in the passenger seat.
Some metal is normal but the black oil isnt....atleast from my experiences

Re: Update on a bad car rebuild

so how much is "leaks like hell" ? Just wondering because if its seaping out and dripping onto the ground like a leaking faucet I wouldnt be driving it or have it hit 5K. Thats like making a retarded kid run on a broken leg with a bloody nose...you beast.
also, it sounds like you still need a gasket since a gasket is still on back order? So it suppose to be on the car? That might mean something ya know ....

Hitting 5 grand right after a rebuild is asking for trouble, if you haven't noticed yet
