Unknown gear change before I got the car?
Unknown gear change before I got the car?
The build sheet says 3.23 gears, but at 60mph in D (NOT OD) I turn 2700 RPM which seems high for those gears. Tires are 245/50/16 GSC. What do you think of those revs? What gears are they likely to be?
Car seems to have a ton of low end... I just put the GSCs on today and took it out for a spin. I had some 225 yokohama snow tires on there since I bought the car last fall until today. I stopped on a paved road (not fresh smooth asphalt or anything), let the car sit at idle and pulled it into 1st. I hit the gas from idle and it ripped to redline in no time, I shifted to 2nd and it never stopped spinning until I had a patch about 30-40 yards long of twin black stripes. Maybe the GSCs just are too hard to stick well? OR is it gears?

Sure Grip, I could do it the more accurate way... lol
I just figured since I wasn't going to do that tonight someone could shed a little light based on what they turn in comparison. I checked the gear chart at f-body.org and it shows 3.42 as turning 2700 at 60mph in 3rd
