understanding matching HEADS to CAM, besides lift
understanding matching HEADS to CAM, besides lift
i have a question.
i know when most people speak about match a cam to a set of heads there refering to lift numbers. but what affect does the duration have on a persons decision about a cam to match to there heads.
ok say my heads flow 250 on the intake side at .400 lift. and the engine is a 350CI. not concerned about rpms or lope or drivability. sticking just to numbers. i dont know any thing about cross section and such. but i understnad the lift part of choosing a cam.
i mean if a cam choice for me is a cam with 230/ 236 with a .550 lift, what would keep me from choosing a 250 255 with a lift of .550.
i guees my question is what are the factor (s) besides lift for choosing a cam. is it just lift, or a incredible mathimatical problem that i cant possibly fathom.
