Uncoated vs. Chrome Ceramic Coated
Uncoated vs. Chrome Ceramic Coated
I am going to purchase pacesseter long tube headers and was wondering what the difference was between the uncoated and chrome ceramic coated headers? Is there any performace gains or is it just the chrome look that will cost the extra $100? Thanks
I would get coated:
Supposedly the ceramic coating traps in heat, which keeps the exhaust heated as it travels and means better scavenging- out of a magazine, dunno if it's true or not.
It will keep underhood temps lower, so less work for your cooling system.
They will look nice years down the road, especially if you can manage not to scratch them putting them in.
Headers cost some decent cash, so you might as well fork over the extra dough if it's going on a daily driver.
