Question Unable to Solve Valvetrain Noise?

When I first start my car in the morning quit a few of the valves are loud. As I drive away and get near 2k rpms the valves get extremely noisy, sounds like a fast metallic wobbling sound. After the car has warmed up it sounds like their is a valve or two that are a little loose, but don't sound near as scary as at first. Finally, after a good 20 minutes of driving the noise is completely gone and the car runs good. While it's noisey the brakes get a little spongey and it idles poorly. It will do this if it has been parked overnight or as short as fifteen minutes. To fix this I started by adjusting the valves with the car running to half a turn past zero-lash with no success. Next I put in a set of CompCams OE lifters. Soaked them in oil for a half-hour as per CompCams instructions and then adjusted them to a quarter turn past zero-lash with the car running, and the problem is still there after three days. Am I correct in thinking that it shouldn't take this long for the lifters to fill with oil? Is there something else that I should be looking for? Thanks.

I was under the impression that adjusting valves while the engine was running would quiet them down since you would adjust them until they WERE quiet???

I prefer setting the lash while the engine is off, ensuring that each valve is closed and then going 1/4-1/2 past 0.

At least I know that the lash is correct on all 16 valves and then if it is still unusually noisey, I would look for another possible cause.JMHO
