On my longtube headers I didnt have any leaks with 4 bolts out of the 6 on one side just becuase it was next to impossible to get some of them in.... dont worry about it.

If you don't have a leak don't worry about it. I'm missing one bolt in the passenger side header, and have no problems. Just make sure your bolts are always tight.

im basically up against the same problem, my question is if I bolt it back together with only five bolts and it doesn't leak, will it leak sooner? or will it cause the other bolts to loosen up sooner?

You guys with out all 6 bolts, how long have you been running it like this?

Thanks

itll leak eventually.........i had a bolt that i stripped and left it out..........things were fine for about a month, then it started leaking.

from what i understand, the only way to fix it properly is to have it heli-coiled..........but you cant do that with the head in the car so you have to take it off and to a machine shop.

Not sure about the Jet Hot LT's but most headers you casn use either hole in the front and rear, both sides[the heads have 2 holes there] just put a bolt in the other hole?
Also, heads do not come off for a cam swap..

i had a missing bolt and felpro gaskets. no ticking sound. A month later, i could see black reside on the part of the header with the missing bolt, so something must have been leaking even though i couldnt hear it.

I put a bolt in, but the residue is still there.

Try re-tapping it maybe?

I might have to do that one the same bolt hole (front passenger) if it keeps crossthreading

May try a little longer bolt. Be sure that a longer bolt wont bottom out into the head. But it may be the first couple of threads stripped and a longer bolt will grab new threads and hold tight. Just get a longer bolt and use some washers to get it as long as you can and try that.

Most header bolt's included w/ headers are only 3/4".. You can use a 1" ARP Safely and that might get you by till your ready to do the heads.. They are only like 15 bux from summit..
