i like wrd1972's exhaust job. but i thought true duals came through on each side of the motor. Like there were 2 long straight tubes going to the back of the car with 2 catalytic converters on each side of the car. he has no catalytic converter i just dont understand i guess

Catalytic converters are for emissions, has nothing to do with rather or not an exhaust is TD or not.
Right... depends on the state laws for one, two generally the main thing to worry about is passing emissions. A LOT of us drive around with zero emissions equipment, not saying its legal obviously. Have you ever had to get any of your cars tested for emissions?
It doesn't depend on the state you live in. Removal, relocation or change in the number of catalytic convertors is a violation of Federal law. That said, lots of people drive around with them removed. I'm not aware of any police force anywhere capable of sniffing emissions with a portable device or impounding the vehicle for a violation.
I run a cat with my longtubes and Corsa exhaust. It won't pass a visual inspection because the cat is not in the stock location but it passes the IM240 rolling road test. I don't run the cat because of law enforcement. I do it because I wish to emit less pollution.
You make your own decisions about the cat but be aware of the law when you do...

For the O2's - Get only AC Delco's. I have a Bosch that crapped out on me in 2000 miles.
If you get AC Delco's for $50ish a piece local it is a good deal. No one had mine in stock so I had order online from Amazon via a seller QuickShipAutoParts of something like that. They were $52.00 each I think plus $7.00 shipping plus a $5.00 COD that apparently was a screw up that I wasn't supposed to be charged.
As for headers - I choose to get Emissions Compliant headers. Learn from me - don't waste time/money on coated headers. Coating flakes off. Go stainless.
I got Emissions Ready headers so I could easily run EGR. Running an EGR doesn't hurt performance. I do however, have my AIR Bung's plugged with 1/2" (I think) Pipe Thread Plugs. AIR is removed. No need for an air pump/smog pump if you don't have a catalytic converter (which is why it is there, it injects air in the exhaust and heats the cat up quicker from a cold start)
