Here's my story on running 2 tranny coolers: I originally ran a 24,000 hayden, and it worked fine. Over the winter I installed heads/cam, and during the installation I basically tore the hell outta the hayden cooler. I stepped on it numerous times, bent all the little fins, etc...basically it needed replaced. Well, I didn't replace it, and a few weeks into driving it after the H/C install, the tranny started to slip. I figured maybe it was overheating, so I set out to replace the tranny cooler. Once I was actually doing the install, I fugured, what the hell, I might as well keep the original one (it has to at least cool it a little bit) and simply add another one. To my amazement, the tranny has not slipped at all since installing another cooler I thought for sure the tranny was toast, but its been chugging along ever since

One tranny cooler is fine. Get a 28,000gvw and run it parallel to your radiator if you want to be safe. Not that two tranny coolers would hurt anything, I just don't think you need all that. Spend that money on something else.

just buy 1 good tranny cooler and be done with it.

any stacked plate cooler is more efficient then the tube/fin type.
B&M sells the stacked plate setup.

Just get 1. Two would not be to much better than 1 big one. Plus, if you setup two, it seems like you would be covering up a lot of radiator space. Just a thought.

First post I know, I only read, I am from the Impala Forum.
Running 2 coolers will help, a very little. The efficiency of a cooler is greater when the temperature difference between the outside air and the tranny temperature is a lot. The closer that temperature gets the less efficient the cooler gets. If you get say a 24,000 GVW cooler, that will be more than enough to cool a Camaro. I have a 24,000 in a Caprice, and my tranny stays pretty cold, even when drag racing.
