Unhappy Tweeked Motor

I'm not sure if I put this in the right spot but here it goes!!!

I have my self a problem

A small bit of history first:
My car has been totaled 2 times BEFORE I owned it!
1st time the rear was damaged
2nd time when is when I found it and the front had been hit on the drivers side.
The K member wasn't hurt dring either crash.

Now for my problem:
I decided to do a complet tear down and rebuild on my motor this year as well as some upgrades like heads and a cam.

That part went well

My problem came when I put in new motor mounts
I had a problem with the drivers side not wanting to go in by 1/16 or so.
So I put a long bar on the back of the cradle and gave it a good whack, thump, the motor fell right in
Tied in the motor and hooked up my headers and took a look under the car.
The passenger side is good but the drivers side is about 1" from meeting up with the Y-pipe and I'm touching my stearing arm, WTF

Did the new mounts change the way my motor sits that much?
How can I check to see if the whole drive train is tweeked?
How do I get awy from my stearing arm?

HELP!
