Turnsignal/Brake Light Help
Turnsignal/Brake Light Help
I'm stumped on this one. My right turnsignal is solid, left turn signal flashes just fine. All bulbs in the right taillight are the right bulbs (2057s) and none are burnt. Emergency flashers work just fine, but the right side isn't as bright as the left side. When I hit my brakes the left side lights up bright, but the right side lights up but pretty dim. The right side is about the same brightness as if I have my parking lights on.
I ran a voltage test and all 4 sockets are showing 10.6 - 10.5 volts when the brake lights are suppose to be one, or the turn signal flashing.
Any suggestions?

Been there, done that.I hope this helps. After you make sure you are using the correct bulbs, then try replacing the sockets, usally(spelling check) in the front, but can be the back as well.Don't buy dealer sockets,go to Kraken or?But before you change anything, make sure the flasher is working well,it's under the dash.Last but not least,it could be the brake light sitch under the dash.My money is on crapped out sockets.My02
I had the same problem and I linked it back to bulbs. Autozone schlup gave me the wrong one. Since you've already checked that I don't know what to suggest other than it might be worth double checking with another new bulb. Sounds like you have ground since they do light up. Our turnsignals only use one flasher module versus one for each side, so it shouldn't be that unless the flasher contains two sets of electronics which is doubtful. Is this just since a bulb burned out and was replaced? maybe try Dielectric grease in the light socket or replacing the socket itself.
Bulb socket. The thing the bulb goes into.Aquick test is to take the ground wire(black)and splice it,then put this black wire down into the socket where the bulb goes, then, put the bulb back into it,and see if that clears this up.Hope this helps someone.(bulbs are not being grounded).My02
i know it sounds crazy, but buy new bulbs and change the affected side before doing sockets. even though the bulb does not looked burned out, it may be defective. happened to me.
imagine what it will be like to cut and splice in a new socket, put the bulb in, and turn signal is still a solid light on your dash

Sorry for spelling.
Kragen auto parts stores.
The product sold is made by=Conduct/Tite.part #85822.
It's a direct replacement for the front sockets anyway
It's a twist-lock just like the GM one.
Hope this helps.
