Turn signal doesnt work
Turn signal doesnt work
okay, the left turn signal works but the right doesn't work. I have already replaced the side marker where the turnsignal is...but I have no idea what else it could be! Please help! When I do turn on the right turn signel, sometimes it works and other times it very very slow. But the left side works absolutly fine.
Carefully check every bulb and socket. Sometimes corrosion will cause a problem even if the bulb is good. If you have to clean them up, use some bulb or lithium grease when you reinstall the bulbs. That will help keep moisture out.
I ran into this same problem. It turned out to be the DRL (daytime running lamps) module. It cost me about $40 from Jason Cromer but it fixed the problem right up. This is after I changed the bulbs and then changed the bulb sockets as well. The DRL module is located right behind the stereo and is attached to a bracket. Slides right off. Good luck.
Mine did the same for a while then just stopped working all together. Noticed my brake light out on the same side. After checking fuse (which was fine) I replaced what looked like a perfect bulb (listen to shoebox with the lithium grease) and it solved both problems brake light and signal.

Okay, I checked out the sockets and the bulbs....in the back. The front turn light works fine...but I am still stumped! What else is next? Could it be a relay?

You might check the long connector that is attached to the RH side of the base of the steering column. Make sure it is squeezed together well.
No I mean that its lighting up and everything like that but what it's not doing is staying consistant. Meaning that you'll hear the relay click.........9 seconds later it clicks again. Instead of a normal operation...click, click, click...and so on. And the left one (drivers side) works and the passenger side doesnt work.
The only thing is that my 96 doesnt have drl's. But I used a guide I found on the internet that uses two relays so your able to have the brighter lights on. Rather than the having the dim lights. I forget where the install page was but basically all it said to do was get two relays so you are able to have the turnsignal one...and then when they are in use they go bright to dim. Stock its dim to bright. But there is nothing wrong with the relays because if there was then the drive side turn signal wouldn't work either. I know it sounds confusing....but I think it's because there is water damage to the elctrical sockets. I going to fix that problem becasue my lights assemblies came in today and I'll have to see if it fixes the problem...my old ones are cracked pretty bad and water gets to the lights. So hopefully this fixes my problem! Thanks everyone! Keep coming with suggestions!
I sprayed so,e lith. grease in there...changed the bulbs and now its dark outside. But that still didnt do anything. Tomorrow though I am going to check that long connector on the right of the seering column like shoebox said. It actually worked again, and I noticed that the relay flasher thingie under the steering wheel wasnt making a click noise. but for the left side it did. Is it possible that one side can work and the other side is urnt out on the flasher? I am diff. going to look at it again tomorrow.
So what you needed was a flasher bulb? Could you explain?
Do you think there is something wrong with my bulbs? wiring? or relays?
Last, but not least...I have turn signal lights on my mirrors and was wondering if you knew what I needed to wire it so that I can have the signal lights alternate with the mirror lights? Thanks!!!
