Tunnel Brace

BMR and Spohn offer a part called a "Tunnel Brace". They say it strengthens the floor plan and reinforces the driveshaft tunnel. Is this a needed chassis componant for our cars for the track ? I guess I'm wondering if it actually is good for anything.

Don't think you'd notice any performance gains but you could buy one with a driveshaft safety loop and get some protection and bracing at the same time.

Yea at least get the DS Loop one.. Does the same thing as that tunnel brace since it mounts in the exact same spot.. Only difference is you'd be getting the DS Loop

Either way, be careful WHAT you buy, cause down the road if you get hard core into drag racing, like 10's etc you will need to get a frame mounted torque arm, and that will interfere with those ds loops and tunnel braces so you will have to sell them eventually... Honestly, I would say don't waste your money on that tunnel brace garbage... Get yourself some boxed sub frame connectors

I think they make those because the brace looks cool and is easy to replace, not because it actually makes any difference other than losing you ground clearance. Unless you need a ds lolop, your money is better spent on beer IMO.

i agree with the above statement...specially since the part that the brace actually bolts to is thin stamped steel.

i can't imagine the part it connects too is much stronger than the stock brace...so what would the point of a stronger brace be?
