You can probably get plugs and wires for $65 or so. I went with Taylor OTVC (over the valve cover) 8mm wires for $100 from thunderracing.com. Plugs are $2 each, unless you get some really expensive plug (like I did).

Just go with the NGK TR55 plugs (TR6 if you're running N2O)...they should be less that $2 a pop...

As far as wiring goes, a stock replacement will be fine...no need to go with the thicker gauged wiring...

There's a lot more to a tune-up than just plugs/wires.

Yea buy the rev kit off of Mr. Ibanez. Forget about your plugs and wires and all that other tune-up crap...jump straight for the "100 horsepower increase" on your top end

what is the best way to get to the plugs/wires? Is it to take the y-pipe off? I have to give my 97 a tune up too and I am just looking for some tips/tricks. Thanks.

my secret to doing the plugs and wires easily is to find someone that is more patient than me and put money in his hand. I did however stick a set of taylors spiro pro's and ac delco platinums in his other hand of course.

plug and wire are a big pain in the butt. remove the exhaust, the starter, belt, alt, loosen the power steering pump, and battery for the extra room.

All i removed was the alternator. Thatz really all you "need" to remove. Of course my arms and hands got a tiny bit cut up. And it took some patients and time to find the holes for the plugs. just kinda feel around for awhile, lol.

Just did the driver side+coil wire this weekend (plugs and wires). Didn't have to remove anything except the intake to get to the coil. The plug 2nd closest to the firewall was a serious PITA. Ijacked the car up nice and high and did all plugs from under the car. Passenger side is a different story. I'm gonna drop the Y pipe and hopefully I'll have enough clearance to get the plugs out and the wires run.

Changing the front cover gasket was less of a pain IMO.

Good luck

Don't pay some guy to put in plugs/wires. Do it yourself with some time and patience.
