Tubular K member install questions
Tubular K member install questions
I was thinking about this the other day...if you have the whole motor, tranny, exhuast, etc in the car already could you install a K member...namely a tubular one?
Would there be any sensible way to go about this?
Just wondering....

That doesn't sound like much fun. I'm installing one now, but the motor is out. You'd have to support the motor while you drop the k-member and front suspension down. I don't know it all, but I think it could be done.

it can be done but i would imagine it to be a lil bit of a PITA
anything is possible though! personally i did mine when i had the motor out of the car! the motor was out for other reasons so i dont think i would pull the motor JUST to install this k-member.. i would definately try it with the motor in the car.. i guess it wouldnt be tooo bad you just need to support the engine and tranny and then just disconnect the rack and pinion and brake lines and then remove the 6 bolts that hold it on to the frame, then the two motor mount bolts and drop that bish outa there! that was the fast version of course
