Question TSB's?

i was reading up on F-body faq's and noticed there is a Technical Service Bulletin (#476111) which calls for the replacement of the intake gasket for an improved one. Now is a TSB just a note to let you know about something or is it some type of recall? I'm asking cause i have an oil leak and i was wondering if this is one of those recalls that could be fixed for free. thanks for any help.

I'm pretty sure a TSB is used as a reference document during a repair for the certified mechanic/Tech to follow: If it was a recall it would be stated as one. Just my Thoughts I could be wrong ........

The early LT1s had intake gasket delamination problems. It would typically cause a higher than normal oil consumption problem and idle fluctuations. An easy test we used to do is remove the oil filler cap and listen to the idle. If it stumbled then the intake gaskets were probably leaking. Doing this would cause a vacuum leak (letting fresh air into the crankcase) and it took a few seconds for the pcm to compensate with the iac.
