Trying to remove Fuel Rail?? What am I doing wrong

I have the 4 bolts off and I thought that the Rail/Injectors would just pull out easily. I have read on the board about a bolt holding the hard lines to the manifold, but I haven't found it. I haven't dissconnected the lines from the rails beacuse the supply line is being subborn, but I don't think this is what is keeping the rails on. Are they easy to get out or are they usually hard and need a little force ?

TIA David

You can remove it without disconecting the fuel lines, that's not stopping it. Mine took a little bit of prying with a flathead screwdriver between the rail and the manifold to work it loose. It's the injector O-rings that are holding it in after the four bolts are out. I pried around gently for a little while to get it to come loose, it is just stuck from being on there so long.

When I pulled my fuel rails and such to do the intake oil leake fix on my car, the rails and injectors were a little stubborn. They're aluminum so don't pry on them with a screwdriver or anything. Just work at them with your hands and the injectors should pop out of the intake.

When you put them (the injectors) back in, do yourself a favor and use NEW o-rings! I didn't and I ended up with a fuel leak onto the intake.

Well, I pried it with a flathead screwdriver. You just have to slip it right under the rail, give it a light pressure, and you're done. You need to do this to get a grip on the rail.
Good luck

The hard lines are held in place with a nut to either the 3rd or 4th intake manifold bolt/stud from the front of the drivers side.....at least on a '93.

I echo the thought on using new o-rings. Cheap insurance for the extra $20 or so for the o-rings.
