Trying to make final (lol, yeah right) decission on major upgrade.

Is it a good idea to run larger injectors and a larger TB, say 52mm, with the LT4 kit? Right now I'm trying to decide on what I'm going to do with my car so I have something to aim for. Options are, LT4 conversion, LE1 kit, or LE2 kit. This winter I am planning on building up my tranny. Planning on getting Hooker super comp headers, hooker y-pipe, and hooker catback. Depending on what I decied to do, I will be putting on larger injectors and larger TB to fit the kit I choose. If I choose the either of the LE kits, should I have the intake bored out? or maybe just get the LT4 intake? For now, it will the the stock bottom end and rear end. I might put 3.73 in it, but maybe not right away. Def. planning on getting a tune from Ion after the mods. I'm just trying to get ideas so I can start to save money. It's a lot easier to save when you have a goal, lol.

Depends on your ultimate goals and how much you want to spend. First off, though, to use the LT4 intake, you need LT4 heads, and vice versa, you can't use one. Second, the LT1 intake flows quite good, and while there is power to be made by porting it, IMO the money is better spend elsewhere.
My reccomendation: Get the LE1 package with upgrade valves. MUCH more power than the LT4, though an LT4 has more potential in the long run. Proven package. Spend the rest of your budget on the many supporting mods, then some suspension work and a beef up the drivetrain.

If the duty cycles are to high on the stock injectors then upgrading to 30lb injectors is a good idea.
For the stock bottom end and the setup you are describing, 52mm would be more than adequate and by not going past 52mm you would NOT have to bore the intake out.

As far as the TB goes I would just get the 58mm...that way you'll have it it won't hurt anything as far as I know to just go with the bigger one...

EDIT: porting the holes for the 58mm is not that bigga deal...

I would have to agree about deciding the overall goals of your build. I know you don't think I know what I am talking about since i posted about arguing with you about the No muffler= False knock, but I will give you my suggestion. Ion is a good tuner no doubt, but if your overall goal is power....with a LE1 or 2 kit you will need very precise tuning to yield the results that most expect with lloyd and Bret's packages. So basically a good dyno tune will be needed, bringing the cost up higher. Next, the LT4 conversion is over priced. For the intake, i would just get the TB opening opened up to 58 MM, and not worrying about porting it. Do a search on Krychter *(sp)...he got a kit from Lloyd its a combo of Le1 and 2 and makes 415@the wheels, for a lot less then the LT4 kit. You will also really want to change the gears as recomended by Lloyd or Bret. Good Luck.

Thanks for all the info guys, including 89385formula, lol. Just because we argued about something in the past doesn't mean I don't consider what you have to say. Anyway... My goal is probably, the most power for the money. The sooner I do the upgrades (which means less time I have to wait and save up) the better. That is what basicly the only thing that limits the money I want to spend. I kinda figured the LT4 kit didn't offer much more than an LE1 or 2 kit for the price. Glad to know you can't use an LT4 intake and anything else. Would have been a slight boo boo. It sounds to me like the best choise for me right now is the LE2 kit with a 58mm TB and the injectors that are listed on Loyds site. I would be able to port the intake for the TB myself anyway, and for the few extra dollers, it's prolly worth it, just in case I decide to do bigger and better things in the future. I know it might be "overkill", but is there a such thing? Hehe. Again, thanks for all the info guys, and if anyone has any other thoughts/ideas, feel free to shoot! I'm all ears untill I make the order in hopfully a few months. Another thing I have to decide on is if I want to do things in steps as I get the money, like, exhaust, then LE2, or if I should just save up enough and do everything all at once. I probably wont be able to wait though, and knowing me, I'll give in and buy it as I get the money. Again, thanks for all the info guys, and if anyone has any other thoughts/ideas, feel free to shoot! I'm all ears untill I make the order in hopfully a few months.
