Question True Duals with Single Chamber Flows

Is anyone running a dual setup on their LT1 car that has single chamber flowmaster race muffers? The setup could be dumped, over the axle, x or h pipe. I just want to hear what it sounds like, as my uncle is getting ready to change his catback out for duals and he likes my setup, but I know it will sound different on a LT1.

Re: True Duals with Single Chamber Flows

I will get sound clips asap of mine. Single chambers will be extemely loud. I think louder than bullets.

My two chambers have a very low old school growl to them. They do change pitch above @4k and sound meaner, but not as high pitched as my cutout was. They are still noticably loud, but I have had no trouble from the cops and at crusing speeds @ 2krpm they are very quite.

My view, if you can get away with duals where you live, its not worth the money to go over the axle. X/h/ true duals depends on the rest of the setup. I went true duals with 2.5 pipes, no crossover and it freed up some tq down low without hurting topend. Don't go 3" duals unless you really need it, to big is a bad thing.

Yea, I've got the single chambers on my LS1 with longtubes and I love it. I just wonder how it sounds on the LT1 motor. Emissions is not a problem where we are.

I'll do you one better, here's a vid from my crappy camera, but you can see some of the exhaust there. It's got a 1000 rpm idle from the PCMTuneforless, I kind of want it lower for more rumbly rumbly, but the driveability is near stock.

Oops, you didn't see the cutouts on there did you? , how did that get on there officer?

Here's my true dual, 2.5", x-pipe, over the axle with tailpipes in the stock location. Muffler is a Bassani spec, pretty straight through design.

Sure thing, I got one taking off and one flying-by. Sorry for the crappy camera, it makes everything an orange color.

It costs a whole lot more and is really more trouble than it is worth. Do what i did and get some dummy tips on the back so it looks like you have a stock setup.

Worth is a relative term, I suppose. I like mine exiting at the rear bumper and functional.

Are these the 6 1/4" mufflers? Anyone got pics of the setup under the car/where the mufflers are? Thanks
