Question true duals or custom y-pipe?!?!

i know there is a few posts floating around about true duals, but i still cant decide what setup i want with my new hooker LT's!! whats the advantage of going with true duals?!? is it true that the x-pipes create lower end torque?

ive been considering a dual setup from summit, but i can only find the parts i would need in 3"..... and ive read that 3" is too big?! is that true? will i lose anything going with a 3" setup instead of a 2.5"?? any thoughts or ideas are greatly appreciated!! thanks

I have a 2.5" setup on mine... pics are in the "website" link below. I got all the parts from Summit actually, but we made the X-pipe from 2 90* mandrel bends, and just cut the back off and welded them together.

c'mon guys!! i know there are more of you out there with either a custom y-pipe or true duals with an x-pipe!! im just looking for some advice before i go order everything i need!

97FormulaWS-6 - since you made the x-pipe yourself, what did you need to order through summit?? mufflers, and what did you buy for piping? im thinking some mandrel bent piping, and some straight 2.5" piping??! would you happen to have any part numbers?!

I was also considering true duals, but it would cost me too much money and it was to hard to get over the driver's side axle. I ended up buying two 3" cut-outs and having a custom Y-pipe built. The cut-outs are mounted just off the header collectors, and I figured that would be the easiest way to get real true duals(open headers). I am just waiting to order my electric-valves so I can open they amy time I choose. I personally think it was a better idea than trying to fabricate a whole exhaust system.

What I ordered from summit...

SUM-111407
SUM-640025
ARP-400-1101
HED-12018
SUM-610130
SUM-G4754
WLK-24215

that's what I ordered... to do the entire thing... except exhaust clamps/hangers.
