True dual video

Thought I would post a video of the true dual exhaust.
It's low quality but better than none. FYI the avi file is
4.5 MB.

I put up a duplicate post since the first one will probably
not get much attention. I want to change out the race
series Flowmasters with a Dynomax to quiet it down.

Comments and suggestions please.

Well, if it makes ya feel better, I read both posts. But the only thing I could come up with in my mind was to put some headers on it and make it louder.

Setup i'm using:

Jet Hot LongTubes, dual 2.5" pipes, over rear end thru 21" Bullet Mufflers (straighthru) then out 3" tips. Sounds goooooood

That is one of the cleanest exhaust tones i've ever heard from a LT1 set up. I love how it pulsates hard at i'm guessing around 2400rpm where LT1s normally do. Sounds kinda like a cannon and resembles the ol' Furd 5.0 to me . As much as i hate to admit it, every time i hear my bud's 93 LX it makes me sick how good it sounds. I take it those are single chamber flowmasters?

I've been contemplating using Jet-Hot LTs, race cats, and single chamber flows with turn-downs before the axle (if the mufflers will fit under there). I think that'll be about as good a sound you'll get from these things.

Thanks Fast Caddie. One of the reasons I went with
a true dual setup is for the sound. And believe it or
not one of my targets was the old stang sound.

The flowmasters are the small single chamber race
mufflers. I love the sound outside, it's the interior
drone that's killing me. I will be checking out a Dynomax
ultraflow sometime this week or next.

I want to maintain the exterior sound quality but kill
the interior drone.

yeah, i agree about the drone part, and your video definately made me think about flowmasters for my dual setup, but i think the weak point of them is the decel noise/interior drone. with all of their wisdom you think they could make something without that

Any chance you might be able to get us a WOT vid? Like, drive away from the camera rolling in 2nd just off idle and hammer it on up towards redline or to wherever you feel comfortable revving it to Those flows seemed to be just opening up when you shifted. But still man that thing sounds great.

I've been wanting to make a vid like that of my car but no one around me has a camera. I heard my car for the first time since i've owned it the other week when a friend of mine and myself decided to do some drive-bys so we could hear the exhausts (he has a cutout with the stock manifolds and it sounds MEAN). My car sounds 10X better than i thought it did.... now i want to get someone else to drive it so i can hear it again The Hooker aerochamber has a split personality..... it sounds almost completely different after it passes 3k.

And now that i think about it, with the MACs i could have a setup almost like yours since the driver's side header collector leans towards the pass. side a good bit. But i think i would criss-cross the pipes after they go over the axle so the DS header/exhaust route would exit on the pass side and the pass header/exhaust on the driver's side. This way the length of the piping could be kept close to the same for both sides, which might clean up the notes even more since the pulses will leave the exhaust tips in order. Just thinking out loud

The system design is so that each pipe is approximately
the same length. I hope to make a better quality audio
recording of the sound soon and will put up a wav file
when I do.

thanks, your system sounds great. I am going to be building a dual setup for my long tubes in the near future, and was planning on either having it exit out the side before the rear wheel, or dumping infront of the axle. Now i want to bring it out the back over the axle and have tips Only thing holding me back is the cost of having a system fabbed up.

I would leave it the way it is, it sounds and looks great. Trust me, in about 3 weeks, you wont even notice you have an exhaust
