True dual questions....
I got a couple of quesitons before I attack this thing. Anyone have them with a lowered camaro?? If so hows the clearance. Another thing, what happens when you gotta pull the tranny and crap??
removal:
unbolt the x-pipe from the collector and undue the hangers and remove.
from what i have read, the collector is the lowest part of the
exhaust system on true duals (if fabbed up correctly) and you are limited to 2.5" piping.

You could probably get away with 3 inch pipe, but I doubt you will get them to go over the rear axle. 3 inch would most likely require you to dump the exhaust before the axle.

I doublt there will be much difference in weight. You're getting rid of a single muffler and a couple extra feet of pipe for two mufflers and an extra piece of pipe. But, the car should run alot better with true duals.
I run 3" true duals dumping before the axle(I did it just because I think it looks cleaner without talipipes) There are a few guys in Phoenix that go under the axle with 3" no problem. My buddy actually has a SS with sportlines and 3" dumped and no problems. It is all about being patient with speedbumps. Subframes help greatly also. I rarely bottom mine out, and if I do it is just a slight scrape, nothing dangerous. Just make sure you have a reputable shop do it. I have seen a couple hack jobs in a few shops here.

I was quite amazed with the weight savings. LTs weigh a hell of alot less than the stock manifolds, and I can pick up my true duals with 2 fingers. I believe some people have documented about 15 lb in weight savings.

Do you really need 3" piping? I mean if my regular catbacks have 1- 3" pipe that both run through and then I go with like 2- 2.5 in pipes...thats still 2 more inches of flow. Just curious.

The lowest point is the flanges on the collestors and I haven`t had a problem with my exhaust dragging, and I`m running sportline springs. It`s not an everyday driver though.
Now I just need to find some mufflers I like.
