Definetly one of the nicer True Duals I have seen on a 4th F-Body. Nice Job.

Do you have a picture of the back end of the car (like bumper view)? I wanted to see if you can see each muffler from the back of the car.

Also does your Mufflers scrape or hit when backing out of a steep driveway?

Thx,
Claude

No WS6 LT4s, only Firehawks (and only 29 of those). There were two prototype LT4 WS6s, but they never made it out of GM.

Nice true dual exhaust, definitely the best I've ever seen on an F-body.

Do you have a H pipe or x pipe anywhere in there?

*i am not doubting your numbers at all, i'm impressed with them* but....

the famous question and i'm surprised it has not been asked yet.....are those numbers SAE corrected? what kind of dyno was it pulled on? is the car on a stock tune still?

nice numbers tho either way it rolls!!

Steve
EDIT: ok i see the HPP+.....your numbers are about right on i would think seeing as the 1.6rr's should net you about the same power as a set of headers on an otherwise stock car!
i put down ruffly the same numbers as you did with LT's and no roller rockers, but you had about 5 more rwtq then me
NEway nice stuff got any track times?
btw thats one hell of a clean under carriage, you ever drive that thing? nice clean looking exhaust man

I just picked up a new digital camera (Nikon Coolpix 5700)
and it can make QuickTime videos so I will be putting up a
short video soon. Got to figure out how to use it first.

I have no trouble with the exhaust scraping in the back. I
sprayed the mufflers black so you barely see them. I'll make
sure the video has a nice shot of the back. The 315s make
the back look nice too.

I have not had the car at the track. Since it's a convertible
the motivation is just not there. The convertible is one of
those wife compromises. But I'm not complaining as I did
get the car I wanted, just optioned out a bit different.

The exhaust system does not have an "h" or and "x", it has
a section of the parallel pipes with a window in a siamesed
section about 1" by 12" long. I have a picture of it and will
try to post it.

The dyno HP was not SAE corrected. The temp was 60.2 F
and the pressure was 30.11" Hg.

That is a very nice set-up, thanks for the post. I'd personally like see see some pics from the top-side as well, I'm partial to Silver.
In your original post it sounds like you did your homework about the CARB approved OBD2 cats. I didn't worry about CARB here but I'm always consciensious that I moved the cats when I did my headers so I'm wondering how that was addressed in the "CARB" approval.

Justy out of curiosity, why didnt you put a 4" mufflex on the car, gains would have to had been similar for a WHOLE lot less money. Or is a Mufflex made for that particular setup? SLP two on the left I would have been a good choice also IMO. Just askin' no flames meant or intended.

The Internet sure is great for helping us with our hobbies!

As for mufflers that won't be as loud, if you can fit them in, try a pair of DynoMax UltraFlows. They flow the same or better (yes, it's been shown) than no muffler, and aren't too loud. They would be much quieter than DynoMax' bullets.

I have never really like the sound of a V8 through
a single pipe. It loses that traditional musclecar
sound like my 68 GTO had. So I did it for the sound
primarily. The research, calculations, etc. done to
back up the decision also showed that a 2.5" dual
performed better than a 3" single and equal to a
3.5" single. Plus I did not like the factory dual cat
arrangement.

The mufflex 4" is about $500 and would have done
nothing to resolve my dissatisfaction with the cats.
Add the $225 cost each for the cats and the mufflex
setup would be $950. This also would not solve the
look aspect. The Trans Am has a molded rear that is
designed for two exhaust outlets.
