true dual bullets done today!

i finally got the car back together.
i changed from RKsport headers to JET HOT longtubes.
and changed the ORP/Borla, to 3" standalone true duals, with 23.25" bullet mufflers.

it is very loud. the same volume as the "no plate" in the borla system with the other headers and ORP.

the sound is awesome, and the guy only charged $43 dollars to weld up my exhaust (i bought all the stuff from summit)
i have less than $200 in the true duals

i had them dumped at the rear axle.

i will try to get some pics later this week.

all from summit
3" to 3" collector reducers
2 bullet bullet mufflers
3" piping 2 peices 48" each
2 turndowns

much cheaper than a ypipe/cutout/catback setup
and lighter too!

im hoping to run high 11's this season

after more driving this evening, the noise is unreal, i believe the bullets are too loud....

is the chambered muffler any quieter?

what are some other alternatives that would be quieter?

the bullets are nearly as loud as open headers

is anybody wanting to buy a couple of bullets?

I just put the jet-hots on, maybe I could buy your whole set-up. I was just getting ready to order all the same stuff you have listed. Let me know. It could never be too loud for me.

Wimp. Maybe you could add some high flow cats and/or the silencer cones. I have several friends with duals and they seem to be fine for every day driving. Suck it up.

How much ground clearance do you have with that setup? I wanted to go with true duals when I get my longtubes, but I don't think I would have any clearance since my car is lowered 1.5".

QCKZ28: I'm also going to do the same set up soon and I was wondering, is it a real raspy sound or just really deep ?

I can't wait to swap out my SLP shorties to Jet-Hot LT's. Not sure how that will affect my clearance. As of right now, I have the same, if not better exhaust clearance than I did with the stock exhaust. But I'm happy with the sound. Not raspy at all, just plain deep and rumbly. Mine cost $210 for Bullets + piping/labor.

jeremyferguson- i might be interested in selling it, i dont know yet but i will keep you in mind, they should work great, becuase you are A4 vert. the only thing that might not work, is i have a lakewood driveshaft loop in place of the factory x brace.

the ground clearance is great, it doesnt hand down any at all, if its bent right you wont have any problem with ground clearance.
i also have kenny brown DD sfc's too. and my car isnt lowered.

the sound is awesome, very DEEP and rumbly. no rasp at all.
the loudness doesnt bother me, its the neighbors and cops i worry about....a state tropper just moved in next to me....i live in a small town, where a kid got a ticket for a flowmaster muffler on a 94 z28, the cop told him it wasnt factory so its illegal

For us emmission guys, did you see any room on that setup to place cats? I know it sounds dumb to have cats on something like this but some have no choice.

BTW, $200 sounds sweet, can't wait to see pics man.
