Troubleshooting optispark?
Is it possible to verify the correct operation of the opti with a spark/ignition tester? One of those that has an adjustable gap, connects to the spark plug wire and to ground?
I’m troubleshooting an idle and low rpm stumble that is not consistent (worse sometimes and better at other times). I think I’ve ruled out everything but the opti but would like to somehow verify that it’s my problem before replacing it. I’m not getting any SES codes. I rebuilt the opti (cap and rotor) ~15 months ago just because it was an opportune time. Optics are original with 133k miles. I figure an optical failure would set an SES though. It’s a ’95 with the vented Opti version.
Thanks,
Rob
